I had been on the library waiting list for several weeks and finally picked the book up early last week. I didn't really have a chance to get to it until Friday night - and then I couldn't put it down.
It even brought me to tears. That hasn't happened in a long, long time.
"The Kite Runner" a contemporary story that includes so many timeless attributes; it's about friendship, pride, honor, prejudice, betrayal and redemption. It's heartbreaking and beautiful. It is a story that will not leave you alone even long after you've turned the last page and closed the book.
Through the first several chapters I had a knot in my stomach; by the end of the book I had an ache in my heart.
This is a book that I will add to my library and read again. Get it and let me know what you thought!
