So, 2006 already?  Bring it on!

I'm not one for making resolutions - too many years of making them and breaking them, I guess.  We classic underachieving, procrastinator types have a problem with things like lists and schedules.  Lists and schedules tend to include items that are neither fun nor challenging so, I figure, why set myself up for failure?  Here are some items that I've tried in the distant past:

I'm not one for making resolutions - too many years of making them and breaking them, I guess.  We classic underachieving, procrastinator types have a problem with things like lists and schedules.  Lists and schedules tend to include items that are neither fun nor challenging so, I figure, why set myself up for failure?  Here are some items that I've tried in the distant past:

Improve diet.  no fun
Walk daily. no challenge
Organize paper files. neither fun nor challenge
Stick to a budget.  now I'm starting to feel like Gollum with the Elven rope tied around his neck and being dragged behind Sam and Frodo - it burns!

As I alluded to earlier, I haven't written New Year's Resolutions for a long time.  This year, though, I thought I'd give it another try.  After all, if I have nothing to aim for then what should I hope to achieve?  So, here goes:

Pray more.  Read more.  Write more.  Take more pictures.  Get up and do more.  Clean more. Listen more.  Talk less.  Smile more.  Complain less.  Trust more.  Take better care of the gifts God has granted me.  Influence my kids more.  Control my kids less.  Love more.  Love more.  Love more.

There's the short list.

And thank you for visiting this website.  Without your support and encouragement, I would not have the courage or confidence to pursue my dream of being a writer (you know, since the rock star thing didn't work out).

I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Peace,
Cindy.
