Yesterday I arrived home, exhausted after a late night followed by an early morning coaching Alex's kickball team then shuttling the kids to a birthday party, to find a large box on our porch.  It was from my dear sister Lynda (and family) who is now in Germany but will soon be back in the states (yeah!).

Enclosed in the box were wrapped presents for both of the boys; a set of walkie-talkies, "head" lights (which, every time they strap on their heads remind me of my OB-GYN), hot wheels and Lego kits.  They were thrilled and played for hours and I was thrilled to have them otherwise occupied for hours.  That was the BEST GIFT EVER!

Also included were some souvenir items from Ireland, Scotland and France.  The boys especially enjoyed the "There's no place on Earth better than Paris" t-shirts and I especially enjoyed the fact that Chuck is a big Bill O'Reilly fan; now I'm going to have to get him one of the "No Spin Zone" Boycott-the-French t-shirts to wear in juxtaposition to the boys' new attire.  The boys are actually fascinated by the French.  I don't know which Fox News Report Chris was watching, but he announced with some authority, "If a French person bites you, you will turn French."

For me?  Why, a bottle of real, French, Eau de Toilet.  This is my first bottle of French Toilet water, I'm so excited!

Lynda's ears must have been ringing, because there in the box, lo and behold, were the Karlobarske oplatky Karlsbader Oblaten we've been craving in both Liskooriskove s prichuti vanilky Haselnusse und Vanillegeschmack and sprichuti nugatu mit Nugate flavors.  YUM-O!  (An exclamation borrowed from my favorite Food network hostess, Rachel Ray.)

Thank you, Auntie Lynda.  You know that because I've perfected the art of procrastination this may be the closest thing to a written "thank you" you're likely to receive.

We'll see you soon!  I'll bring you something Texan, like a Yella Meat Water Melon!
