Tonight at 10:30 Alex reminded me (why is he still awake, anyway?) that I need to return the movies/game that we rented which were due back before midnight tonight.
Thanks Alex!
I'm a world class procrastinator and don't ask me why I seem to be able to accomplish my whole to-do list in one day...the day AFTER the deadline. Maybe I'm just a sucker for late fees? Maybe I just like a good adrenaline rush and Chuck will not let me sky-dive anymore. Besides, darn it, I perform better when I'm pushed to the wall! So I do mean it when I say "Thanks, Alex;" you saved us the late fees tonight.

So, the Supreme Court has decided that the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed in two KY courthouses, but the frieze on display in the Supreme Court can stay, because the artist covered any references to God and Sabbath, making it a completely secular, historical document, then, I guess? Okay.
What gets me about these cases is not that non-Judeo-Christians want the displays removed, but that practicing Christians would engage in the fight at all. We Christians should not be worried about whether or not the Ten Commandments are on public display but, rather, are we publicly displaying adherence to those commandments?

The boys and I were examining ants as part of a unit study on cooperation. As I did my research I discovered that there are over 10,000 species of ants in the world. Over 10,000 different species of ants alone! Well, that got me to thinking about Adam, Eve and original sin and taxonomy; logical association, right?

The Bible is full of them.
I love the way the authors of the Bible include little snippets of information that are woven into the main story in such a way that you either completely miss the reference, or, when you do finally catch it, you are left wondering what on Earth happened next?
One of my favorite biblical cliffhangers is found in Matthew 27:57-58:
